Penguin Party

Hello.  Gail here today with a little make using Playful Penguins and Colourcraft Aztec paints.

Only a few short days til 2018 and these guys are ready!  Party on little flippers......

I started by taking a large round brush and making some sweeping stripes across a piece of A4 card using Colourcraft Aztec metallic lustre paints in red and pink.  I used a lot of paint on the brush to give me some texture.  Then I spread some of the purple paint onto my craft sheet and used the bubble stamp from the Playful Penguins set to stamp randomly over the page.

I used a stitched rectangle die to cut a section of the painted sheet and then stamped the water weeds from the Playful Penguins set.  Then I roughly coloured them with the green Aztec paint.

I used the blue Aztec paint to colour a piece of card and stamped, embossed and fussy cut two penguins.  I added some extra colour with the purple and yellow paint.  I mounted the panel on a pale blue base card and added the penguins.  I stamped numbers from Pick a Number on some card I had coloured with the pink paint, embossed them with gold powder then ran some gold glitter glue around the rims and fussy cut them.  The sentiment is from the Happy Birthday stamp set, embossed with black powder.

There is still time to enter the current challenge for a chance to win a fabulous prize.

Thanks for dropping by.  I hope you all have a safe and very happy New Year.  Hugz

Embossed Shimmer Sheetz - Christmas Card

Hello everyone! It's Bibi here today to share one of the many two cards I sent out this year. Yes, two.... Not that I hadn't made a bunch of cards for my quick and easy Christmas cards post earlier this month - and I had all the time in the world to write inside the cards and make envelopes, or so I thought ... But you know how fast time flies - especially in December!

Here is one of the cards I managed to send out in time:

The embossed panel is Shimmer Sheetz, which is an iridescent metallic Mylar by Elizabeth Craft Design (I'm not affiliated, just love this product!). After embossing, I altered it with alcohol inks, sanded it lightly to reveal the white core, then I added some bronze paste to the edges. I wanted to add some gold mica powder to the paste, but it flew everywhere and stuck to the alohol ink on the Shimmer Sheetz. I liked it, though - a happy accident - so I added more and set it with a fixative spray. The stamped trees are from the Whimsical Winter stamp set by Rubber Dance. I white embossed them and coloured them in with ZIG markers to match the colours of the card. I adhered the trees with some really sticky clear tabs (Power Tabs by Tombow) to raise them up from the card and make sure they stayed there.

On behalf of the crew and team here at Rubber Dance,
I wish you all a very Merry and Happy Christmas!

It’s nearly Christmas - Art Journal Tutorial by Deborah

Hello Everyone Debs here with a very Christmassy Tutorial, well it is nearly here. I wanted to created something with a magical feel and hope that comes across. I do love Christmas and the wonderful giving spirit it evokes in most people!

So I started with my favourite colour combo of purple, blue and green. I just love how these colours look together, but you do
have to be careful mixing the green and purple as you don’t want to make brown.

Stamped my favourite stamp of the moment, the leaves from Crazy Flowers 2, and painted them with Pitt Pens for Fabre Castell.
I then used a white Acrylic Ink to add snow to the leaves.

I added some flicks to create the idea of snow falling

I added touches of an horizon to add depth to the page and drew a few houses. Now as this was created intuitively, i.e. not planned I drew my houses. However, if you want to create this, you could use the houses from Textured Houses, which for this were a little too big.

I blended some white acrylic gently around the leaves to act as the moon far far away, and very low in the sky.

And then added the bird at the front again to create depth and send the houses and moon way back. I stamped the bird onto white card, cut it out and painted it with Sennelier watercolour paints.

Lastly added my sentiments

Well that’s me in the Christmas Spirit. Here are the stamps I used.

I would like to wish everyone a wonderful Christmas

Take care everyone
